As a Research & Insights Associate or Senior Associate at Principal Financial Group, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various research projects, delivering valuable insights to inform strategic decision-making for marketing, branding, customer experience that help to further differentiate Principal in the market. You will use your strong project management skills to establish and meet deadlines for all research studies and activities. This role is well-suited for individuals who are driven, attentive to details, and thrive in a dynamic team setting.

 

Working alongside senior members of the team the selected candidate will:

• Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, analyze competitors, and determine customer preferences
• Conduct surveys, interviews, and focus groups to collect data and gain insights.
• Analyze and interpret data using statistical techniques and provide actionable recommendations to individuals or teams involved
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop research plans and successfully implement them
• Communicate research findings effectively to both internal and external individuals in a clear and concise manner.
• Stay informed about current industry trends and effective research methodologies
• Continuously improve research processes and strategies to ensure flawless execution

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., market research, data analytics, psychology), or equivalent experience in the field.
• 1+ years of related experience conducting primary and secondary research
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions
• Proficiency in using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS), data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI) and survey software (e.g., Qualtrics)
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Hiring Level

We are open to hiring at both the Associate and Senior Associate level based upon qualifications and experience.

 

Location

This role is based in Des Moines, IA.

 

Work Environments

This role offers a hybrid work arrangements, blending three in-office days with two remote days in a typical workweek.

Salary Range Information:Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.Salary Range:$48450 - $99950 / yearTime Off Program:Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.Pension Eligible:YesAdditional Information:
