Description
+ Develops and integrates new methodologies, techniques, and software algorithms for calculation of radiation therapy patient doses within the research treatment planning environment. + Identifies new opportunities for automation and research. + Evaluates software offerings from commercial partners, to identify opportunities and needs that are not solved by a commercial solution. + Assists in the development, integration, and training of image processing and imaging registration tools for treatment planning. + Acts as a liaison to Division of Medical Physics leaders communicating project needs and specifications. + Supports visualization and analytics, developing application-specific Java components and GUI tools. + Conducts research projects using statistical computer models, investigating machine learning algorithms, and innovating GUI formulating tools. + Supports data management and security needs, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of research data. + Completes dosimetric forms for clinical trials patients under the supervision of a qualified medical physicist or medical dosimetrist. + Manages data associated with patients entered cooperative group trials, including data collection and entry into various research databases. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + Master's degree in Medical Dosimetry, or related field and five years of experience. + Certification or eligibility for certification as a Medical Dosimetrist. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Prior experience in radiation therapy or medical imaging research. + Profeciency in programming languages such as Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, C#, Perl, and C++ preferred. + 2+ years of demonstrated experience with Eclipse Scripting Application Interface (ESAPI), .Net C#, and WPF and should have written scripts used in clinical practice. + Understands and applies standard object-oriented development techniques. + Prior experience with Standard Query Language (SQL) for creating and editing customized reports is sought. + Experience with HL7 and DICOM to interface the code with clinical systems. + Ability to develop and maintain web applications using various programming languages such as Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Perl. NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice.
