We are a growing organization, and we are seeking an R&D Technician to join our Clean Technology Systems division. Together, with the momentum of our business vision, we can achieve international success and added innovation in all of the themes which Dürr influences at a global level.
Location: De Pere, WI
Position Summary: The R & D Technician will be assigned tasks by the R&D Group Leader. Tasks will be directly related to Dürr processes with product development, pilot trials with and without customers among other various responsibilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Set up of test equipment for pilot trials and test bed operations in the lab.
- Disassembly and cleaning of R&D apparatuses.
- Reassembly and setup of test equipment for pilot trials and test bed operations in the lab.
- Assist technician in the operation of equipment during trials to include roll handling, splicing, handling of web and coating materials, basic operation of pumping and mixing equipment, and observation of testing and basic data logging of testing parameters as instructed by the technicians.
- Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
- Provide and maintain a safe work environment by participating in safety programs, committees, or teams and by conducting laboratory or plant safety audits.
- Order and inventory materials to maintain supplies.
- Design or fabricate experimental apparatus to develop new products or processes.
Nonessential Functions:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or Equivalent (Welding, Machine Tool Operating, or other related programs)
- 1- 2 years related General Labor, Welding, Machine Tool Operating or R&D experience
- Ability to read drawings and follow instructions from operational method sheets
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional customer-first attitude
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of roll-to-roll coating equipment operating experience
- Batch mixing experience
Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
