Research Associate, In Vivo - MilliporeSigma

This is a 12-month contract with possibility of extension. Work will be 100% onsite in Billerica, MA.

Responsibilities:

• Routinely dose nanoparticle-based formulations
• Routinely take down rodents and perform ex vivo tissue analysis
• Monitor animal welfare
• Conduct experiments, independently and in collaboration with colleagues in support of project goals
• Analysis and accurate documentation of assay results in an electronic lab notebook, technical documents, and other reporting formats.

Required skills:

• Extensive in vivo experience and handling mice is required
• Experience with tail vein injections and intramuscular injections are required
• Tissue dissections of rodents is required
• Perfusion and terminal blood collections are highly recommended
• Experience using IVIS imaging and ex vivo tissue homogenization/ extraction is recommended
• Proven ability to work independently in hands-on laboratory setting, self-motivated to learn and develop new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
• Familiarity of Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) a plus.
• Familiarity with MS Office is a must.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills (both oral and written) are required.
• Must work well with colleagues as a team player.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, animal care, pharmaceutical science, or related field
• 2+ years of academic or industrial lab experience preferred.

Duration: 12 months with performance dependent extension.
