Job Title: Histology Technician IV
Location: Foster City, CA 94404
Duration: 12 Months
Pay Rate:$52.67/hr
Job Description:
• Perform all facets of tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining, handling delicate or challenging specimens with expertise. Ensure the preparation of high-quality sections for microscopic examination.
• Efficiently manage both clinical and non-clinical sample logistics and management, ensuring proper handling, processing, and storage in compliance with established protocols.
• Perform routine staining techniques such as H&E on tissues with precision.
• Perform high-resolution scanning of stained slides, ensuring accurate digital capture for downstream analysis, with an emphasis on standardized image naming and meticulous data organization.
• Implement QC measures for histological integrity, covering equipment upkeep, standard practices, accurate sample handling, issue resolution, and data accuracy checks.
• Manage reagents and consumables inventory, optimizing stock levels and procurement.
• Uphold and enforce laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance, including hazardous material handling and disposal, to maintain a safe working environment.
• Streamline laboratory workflows and techniques to boost efficiency and quality of output.
• Collaborate on research projects, contributing to the development of new technologies and the improvement of existing processes. Participate in experimental design, data analysis, and the dissemination of findings.
• Mentor and train junior staff in histological techniques, safety protocols, and laboratory procedures.
• Pursue continuous learning to adopt industry advancements and share insights with the team.
Required Years of Experience: 5 years
Required Degree or Certification: BS Degree in Histotechnology, Biology, or related field
