Research Associate, Equity Team - Vaughan Nelson Investment Management

Synopsis

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to support our investment team. As a Research Associate, you will play a critical role in the investment decision-making process by conducting comprehensive research, analyzing financial data, and providing insights on companies, industries, and countries. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and develop a deep understanding of financial analysis in the asset management industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

Research and Analysis:

Conduct in-depth research on companies, industries, and countries to support the investment team. This includes analyzing financial statements, earnings transcripts, industry trends, and macroeconomic data.

Data Management:

Gather, organize, and maintain financial data across multiple industries and countries. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used in the analysis.

Modeling and Valuation:

Assist in building and maintaining DCF models to evaluate potential investments.

Market Monitoring

Track and monitor news, events, and developments that may impact the performance of portfolio companies or investment opportunities.

Meeting and conference participation

Attend sell-side research meetings and conferences. Provide research notes on from meetings to the investment team. 

Collaboration:

Work closely with other team members to support the overall investment process. Participate in team meetings, discussions, and brainstorming sessions.

Qualifications

Education:

This is a pre-MBA position. A bachelor’s degree is required. A CFA or CPA designation or progress toward one is a plus. The firm will help cover costs for those seeking these designations.

Analytical Skills:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to synthesize large amounts of information and identify key investment drivers.
