Job Title: Research Associate/Senior Research Associate, Biology
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate (RA) or Senior Research Associate (SRA) with extensive experience in mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our drug discovery and development programs by executing and optimizing in vitro assays to evaluate target biology and therapeutic candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and advanced mammalian cell culture techniques, including maintenance, expansion, and cryopreservation of cell lines (adherent and suspension)
Develop, optimize, and execute cell-based assays (e.g., viability, proliferation, apoptosis, cytotoxicity, reporter gene, and functional assays) to support drug screening and mechanism-of-action studies
Utilize techniques such as immunocytochemistry, ELISA, Western blotting, and high-content imaging to analyze cellular responses
Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures and results in electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) and prepare detailed technical reports
Present findings to internal stakeholders and participate in team meetings to provide scientific input
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and best practices in cell culture and assay development
Required Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in mammalian cell culture techniques, including handling a variety of cell lines and primary cells
- Hands-on experience with cell-based assay development and optimization (e.g., luminescence, fluorescence, colorimetric assays)
- Proficiency in utilizing laboratory instrumentation such as plate readers
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques such as Western blotting, and transfection methods
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior industry experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as GraphPad Prism, or image analysis software
