The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine is seeking a full-time, a non-tenure research track faculty member, at an academic rank of Research Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, to join our team of highly productive clinical and basic science faculty in the Division of Vascular Surgery. The successful candidate will conduct research on the etiology of lung transplantation and its treatment. This position requires advanced skills in small animal survival surgery, immunohistochemistry, RNA and DNA processing, PCR, microscopy, flow cytometry and immunoassays. The individual filling this position will have primary responsibility for creation and full implementation of these analytical approaches, the development of experimental designs, and the presentation and publication of research findings. The Department of Surgery (http://www.surgery.ufl.edu) ranks in the top third of all departments nationally in NIH funding, and seeks to become a top ten department in this decade. | Preferred Qualifications: | Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated leadership skills, advanced surgical skills in murine abdominal aortic aneurysms and a track record of working with basic science/clinical faculty. The successful candidate will possess advanced skills in immunology and vascular biology. |
