Luminator is seeking to fill our full-time Repair Technician role to join our growing and dynamic Repair Center team where you will be an integral part of the team by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator.
The successful Repair Technician candidate will be responsible for testing faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment/software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems. You will maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Performs inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair of systems, components, and other products, using established procedures.
- Set up and configure test fixtures, mechanical and/or electrical controls, cabling, power sources, and measuring instruments.
- Conduct and log routine preventative maintenance of test fixtures and equipment.
- Maintain equipment logs that record performance, problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests.
- Setup and test industrial equipment to ensure that it functions properly.
- Evaluate message listings and digital content for appropriate formatting for each product type.
- Inspect components of equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects, such as loose connections or frayed wires.
- Maintain ESD protected areas and all required charts.
- Compile and submit required repair reports and work timesheets.
- Provide time and cost estimates on repairs.
- Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Repairing machines or systems using necessary tools.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is necessary.
- Other job duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This candidate will possess:
- HS Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate's degree preferred.
- 3 years of experience within Repair environments and using general mechanical assembly tools: oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, programming tools, etc. required.
- Understanding of RS232, RS485, J1708, CAN bus, Ethernet, etc. is preferred.
- Ability to solder through hole and surface mount components.
- Ability to read and explain schematics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of testing, repair, and manufacturing procedures and systems.
- Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware/software including but not limited to applications and programming.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.

- Monitoring/assessing your performance to make improvements or take corrective action.
