Responsibilities
- Diagnose technical problem of the products, repair and calibrate them mostly at our shop floor
- Travel to customer locations to diagnose complex technical problems and perform on-site repair
- Travel to customer locations to install the products at customers’ site
- Examine tools mechanically and electrically in order to perform repairs by dismantling tools and rebuilding as needed
- Diagnose technical problems and troubleshoot via telephone
- Communicate professionally and effectively with customers
- Effectively interpret schematics and block diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problems
- Document in detail product problems and resolutions
Preferred Skills and Expertise
- Associates or technical degree preferred
- A background in field service within the automotive industry preferred
- Experience with electrical measurement and calibration techniques (voltmeter and other calibrating equipment)
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems (servo motors, bearings, gearing, ball screws and moving systems)
- General understanding of PLCs and pneumatics preferred but not required
- Experience in Mechanical measurement and inspection techniques (indicators, micrometers, and calipers)
- Working knowledge of fastening and assembly processes
- Ability to use basic hand-tools
- Ability to operate a computer with windows operating systems
- Comfort in working with abrasive chemicals to clean parts
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Able to be comfortable working with heights
- Valid Driver’s License; Ability to travel to project locations, including overnight travel
