JOB SUMMARY:
This position's purpose is to target and grow strategic rental accounts and support the development of National Accounts, working directly with the Caterpillar National Account Manager.
The Rental Strategic Account Manager will work with the Rental Operations Manager to set the operating standards needed by Strategic Accounts, and with the Rental Asset Manager on fleet (spec) needs and growth opportunities. Additionally, this role will assist the Cat National Account Manager with growth, implementation, and customer-related issues and establish policies on topics specific to the Strategic Account with the General Rental Manager. It is important in this role to ensure all policies, procedures, and processes related to the CRM (Sales Link) are being followed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A college degree, formal college or professional training, or additional training in a related area is preferred.
- Ten years of rental sales and rental industry experience is required.
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications, Integrated Rental Solutions, and DBS.
- The ability to write proposals, emails, memos, and other important documents to executive-level management, and the ability to organize and deliver basic training on products, operations, sales, service, and systems is required.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Must have knowledge and understanding of the training and support capabilities within the Caterpillar organization.
- Must know the operations, sales, service, and all other systems that pertain to account growth.
- Possession of assessment techniques of examining, questioning, evaluating, and reporting on the performance of each is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
