We are currently seeking talented individuals for our Rental Manager - San Diego Region position!

Here is some of what you’ll do…

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Rental Manager - San Diego Region will be responsible for achieving rental revenue goals, managing rental personnel, and achieving customer satisfaction targets. This position will also be responsible to assist with preparing San Diego region stores for retail business, service business, subsequent revenue goals. This position is responsible where applicable, for achieving Caterpillar metric targets and financial performance goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Lead rental sales and operations team in San Diego to achieve annual growth targets.
2. Establish appropriate levels of rental sales coverage for the territory and position team to achieve great customer experience results and annual business goa
3. Work closely with rental customers to support their needs and provide solutions.
4. Manage rental sales team’s performance and their territory assignmen
5. Coach and develop the total rental team in San Diego.
6. Gather, communicate, and respond to rental market intelligence - develop solutions to counteract competitive activity and to achieve annual business plan.
7. Interface with GM of Sales/Rental to establish rental inventory levels adequate for revenue
8. targets.
9. Assist each branch with preparation to provide the total Hawthorne offering of rental, retail, and product support.
10. Communicate proactively with GM of Sales/Rental regarding personnel, assets, customers,
11. execution, and business in process.
12. Conduct other duties as assigned by leadership.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. Must have 10 years minimum experience in rental business and sales business including the small and heavy equipment industry
2. Must have a minimum of 2 years of management experience
3. Must have 5 years of general office experience
4. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
5. Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter
6. Must be organized and a good planner
7. Ability to set and meet goals
8. College Degree preferred
9. Caterpillar Dealer Management Experience preferred
10. PC skills required to include Microsoft Office
11. Must have a valid California Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Walking and moving about on foot often up and down stairs
2. Handling:  Works with hand
3. Lifting: May be required to lift items up to 30 lbs
4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction
5. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist
6. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job
7. Vision: Reads computer screens and paperwork
8. Talking:  Communicates via telecommunications and in person
9. Sitting: Sits at de Sits for long periods of time
10. Climbing: Climbs on and off equipment

ENVIRONMENTAL:

1. Noise:  Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
2. Temp/Weather:  Works in an office environment and also travels to job sites.
