Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to our tax department, ensuring compliance with state and local income tax laws.
- Conduct comprehensive tax research and provide consulting services to our clients, helping them navigate complex tax issues.
- Manage 754 elections, ensuring accurate and timely filings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement tax strategies that align with our business objectives.
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and provide guidance on the potential impact on our business operations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on tax-related matters, providing training and guidance to team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- LLM in Taxation required.
- JD and CPA certifications are strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a tax-related role, preferably within the finance industry.
- In-depth knowledge of state and local income tax laws, tax research and consulting, and 754 elections.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax-related information to a variety of audiences.
- Proficiency in tax software and other relevant technology.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
