SUMMARY
The Remote WebSphere Middleware Administrator will support our government client in Parkersburg, WV. The Middleware Administrator will manage a Federal Agency WebSphere Application Server (WAS), IBM HTTP Server (IHS), Message Queuing (MQ), IBI WebFocus, DB2 database, Oracle database, Apache/Tomcat, IBM Spectrum Protect, Veritas NetBackup, Data Transport/Managed File Transfer, and IBM Connect:Direct middleware applications.

SUMMARY
The Remote WebSphere Middleware Administrator will support our government client in Parkersburg, WV. The Middleware Administrator will manage a Federal Agency WebSphere Application Server (WAS), IBM HTTP Server (IHS), Message Queuing (MQ), IBI WebFocus, DB2 database, Oracle database, Apache/Tomcat, IBM Spectrum Protect, Veritas NetBackup, Data Transport/Managed File Transfer, and IBM Connect:Direct middleware applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deploying and maintaining middleware applications using web technologies including, but not limited to, WebSphere.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to middleware software.
- Administration and maintenance of web servers and application servers.
- Working with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Managing container networking and storage.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
- Perform infrastructure automation (ideally with tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Puppet)
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- 5+ years of experience as an IBI WebSphere Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of middleware platforms such as WebSphere, JBoss, Apache, etc.
- Experience in installation, configuration, and maintenance of middleware software.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to middleware software.
- Knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP/IP and HTTP.
- A strong understanding of TLS/SSL certificates and their management.
- Strong understanding of web servers and application servers.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Knowledge of container orchestration and management tools.
- Familiarity with container networking and storage.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Strong understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
