About the Role:
On Call Counsel is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Family Law Attorney with at least 2+ years of family law experience to join our client's NYC-based law firm on a remote, contract basis. This position is ideal for a dedicated legal professional eager to contribute to meaningful family law cases while working from the comfort of their home. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity, with the potential for long-term collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support, and domestic violence cases.
- Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and agreements.
- Represent clients in virtual court hearings and mediations, as necessary.
- Conduct legal research and provide case strategy recommendations.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients and the firm’s team.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in New York (required).
- 2+ years of family law experience, including litigation and case management.
- Proficiency with virtual communication tools and legal technology platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
