Job Description:
The Remediation Program Manager role is responsible for all aspects of site remediation for existing sites. This includes state led UST remediation project, surface spills, storm water inspections & maintenance, and voluntary action programs. This candidate will be responsible for scope reviews, budget forecasting, reserves, report reviews, and the processing of purchase orders. This role will work closely with RaceTrac’s environmental consultant(s) to provide innovative, cost effective, solutions to remediation challenges. The Remediation Manager may also be called up to work closely with the Sr. Program Manager and the Real Estate team to coordinate any environmental activities needed with Site Assessments Phase I & II, for all RaceTrac and RaceWay convenience store locations. Up to 25% travel required.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all current and/or future leaking underground storage tank projects.
- Responsible for annual forecast and quarterly reserve updates.
- Manage RaceTrac’s stormwater inspection program and arrange for maintenance or repairs as needed.
- Manage the emergency response activities related to surface spills at active retail facilities as well as assist for any offsite spill response related to the transportation of fuel from both internal Energy Dispatch and third-party carriers.
- Aides in ensuring deadline compliance is met for all reports, sampling and testing related to regulatory milestones.
- Participates in the implementation of continuous improvement processes related to RTI’s environmental best management practices.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all EPA and state Regulations related to assessment and remediation.
- Stay abreast of upcoming and new regulatory requirements including proposed rule makings, emerging contaminants and changes to guidance documents such as ASTM standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field preferred or extensive experience as an Environmental Project Manager.
- 5+ years’ experience in Environmental Remediation Management or related field preferred.
- Experience with active remediation strategy and technologies preferred.
- Knowledge of or experience working with UST systems preferred.
- Knowledge of Real Estate development preferred.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite preferred
