Overview
Position Summary: Partial responsibility for coordination of medical records and third party approvals, cash payments and claims forms. Schedules new patient visits and subsequent return visits. Files medical records, coordinates mail correspondence, type letters and memos. Answers phones and greets patients. Preparation for treatment, at the conclusion of treatment and as directed, during treatment. Also, partial responsible for the preparation of equipment and treatment areas; maintenance of an inventory of stock supplies; safety of and care of patients, fellow employees and equipment; maintains by appearance and actions conduct that enhances the profession and provision of service. Utilizes EPIC and multiple Microsoft office programs including word, excel, and PowerPoint. Percentage of time spent on each component directly depends on department needs.
Education, License & Cert: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience: 1. Working knowledge of medical terminology required. Training as medical secretary or appropriate experience preferred. 2. Ability to type accurately at 50 ‐ 60 wpm using recorded dictation or handwritten drafts. 3. Proficiency with computer office software including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and IDX. 4. Must be of high moral character; trustworthy with confidential information 5. Previous experience with direct patient care
Essential Functions: 1. Obtains Authorization from insurance for Rehab services. Schedules initial and follow up appointments for department.
2. Assists patient in preparation for treatment, during treatment and at the conclusion of treatment under therapist directive/supervision.
3. Assembles, disassembles equipment and accessories utilized for patient/resident treatment.
4. Inspects equipment daily to ensure safe operation.
5. Maintains all treatment equipment including but not limited to: ultrasound; electric stimulation; weights; exercise/therapeutic equipment needed for daily operation of the department.
6. Maintains adequate linen supplies to ensure patient/resident comfort during treatment.
7. Maintains care and use of an inventory of necessary equipment; ambulatory aides; pharmaceutical agents; sterile supplies.
8. Performs duties necessary for efficient operation of the department. (changes linen; cleaning)
9. Is responsive to requests from professional staff.
10. Assists with data collection/monitoring of the departments CQI process and program.

Union 10 - The pay range for this position $15.91-$23.81/hour
