About the Job
The Rehab Insurance Verifier is responsible for the registration of new patients for the outpatient rehab departments that they have been assigned, which fall under the Baptist Health Care system. Additional responsibilities include Insurance verification, authorization / reauthorization, precertification / re-certifications and providing excellent customer service to our customers (patients, physician offices, and co-workers). This position ensures that patient demographics, insurance information, and insurance benefits, are obtained and entered into the Patient accounting system and then sending the benefit information back to the appropriate outpatient rehab department. The person in this position works under general supervision, and at times may be requested to perform other duties as assigned by manager, to work over 40 hours per week and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Qualifications:- High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
- One year experience in customer service related experience/field.
- Demonstrates competency in working in teams and ability to effectively communicate with all levels. Provides excellent customer service to internal and external contacts.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficient in data entry computer skills.
- Ability to function in high paced, often stressful environment and/or circumstances while maintaining a respectful, caring and professional manner.
- Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information. Able to function effectively with frequent interruptions.
