Job Title: Regulatory Accountant

Our client is seeking a Regulatory Accountant to join their team. This role, reporting to the CFO, involves managing daily regulatory reporting, treasury and liquidity operations, and ensuring accurate financial accounting. Responsibilities include payment processing, bank reconciliations, cashbook updates, invoicing, and supporting tax and financial statement preparation. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting to the CFO
- Timely completion of daily regulatory reporting and reconciliation activities
- Treasury and liquidity management including banking payments
- Oversee the daily payments, and posting of daily payments process, to ensure that all payments are raised and authorized in a timely manner;
- Dealing with regulators and exchanges to ensure continuing compliance and prompt response to queries received
- Ensuring accurate accounting books and records, including the timely and accurate completion of transactional accounting activities including:
- Cashbooks / bank account updates;
- Ensure bank account entries are reflected in MS GP to enable daily liquidity reporting;
- Uploading daily nominal ledger from Eclipse;
- E-request, invoice logging and associated GL postings;
- Daily cash sheets and the validation of these entries prior to validation on Eclipse in an efficient, timely and accurate manner;
- Sales ledger invoicing, cash collection and posting into MS GP
- Daily cash book posting, bank reconciliations and send liquidity snapshots as and when required
- Assist with tax computation and returns
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements in line with US GAPP
- Support the Group Audit process;
- Revenue reconciliations between accounting, external records and trading platform records
- Direct cost reconciliations between accounting, external records and trading platform records
- Maintain strong balance sheet control through monthly reconciliation of the entire balance sheet;
- Inter-company receivables and payables ledger posting and reconciliation
- Aged debtor and creditor analysis
- Reconciliation of client sub ledgers (Eclispe report) with General ledger
- Responsible for account payable and associated process as and when required
- Maintain accruals, prepayments, fixed asset register and intercompany related reconciliations;
- Aged debtor and aged creditor analysis and control;
- Prepare and analyse variance analysis reports to aid cost control initiatives;
- Contribute towards projects and initiative changes that will benefit the Company;
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices and commercial finance opportunities and ensure that any additional best practice ideas are communicated to the CFO
KEY COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Qualified Accountant with 3+ years of post-qualification experience
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Advance knowledge of excel (such as Vlookup, SUM IF, Pivot etc.), database/ERP
- Demonstrates passion and commitment to upholding professional standards
- Strong communication skills and handles complex and difficult situations with thought and confidence
- Awareness of the requirements of working within a regulated business within financial services is preferred
- Ability to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions including the ability to generate effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented;
