Salary/Hourly Rate:
$20/hr – $23/hr
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registration Specialist. This full-time position is based in New York and is ideal for someone compassionate, articulate, and detail-oriented. As the Registration Specialist, you will play a crucial role in guiding individuals through the enrollment process, ensuring they understand their program, and providing ongoing support in self-directed services.
Responsibilities of the Registration Specialist:
- The Registration Specialist will follow up on referrals for participant-directed services.
- Assist individuals and employers in completing necessary documentation for program enrollment.
- Educate participants on how to interact with the fiscal intermediary, including timesheet completion and provider enrollment.
- Identify and resolve barriers to timely enrollment and ensure the process is smooth and efficient.
- Collaborate with Case Managers and service providers to ensure timely approval and authorization of services.
- The Registration Specialist will conduct in-home visits to participants as needed.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely enrollment and first payments to providers.
- Provide ongoing person-centered education and support to participants, including navigating program rules and financial management systems.
- The Registration Specialist will offer training on identifying and reporting fraud, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and time spent in accordance with policies.
- Update participant and provider information in internal systems and manage enrollment status.
- Work with the Enrollment Supervisor to meet service level expectations and ensure timely processing.
Qualifications for the Registration Specialist:
- Fluent in English and an additional language (Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Italian, French, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong customer service experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and web-based applications.
- The Registration Specialist should have the ability to assess processes and make recommendations for improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- The Registration Specialist should have a minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities or aging adults.
- Must be able to travel (20% of the time) to the office location in Schenectady County, NY.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
