About the Job
SCOPE OF WORK: Provides administrative and technical support for the Registrar's Office in course registrations, maintaining academic records, academic auditing, compilation of reports, preparing academic data. This position reports to the Registrar at NHTI, Concord’s Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assists the Registrar in managing the daily office functions of the Registrar's Office including supervision of staff, planning and coordinating the collection and transcription of student academic information, and with the preparation of academic information related to the annual revision of the College’s catalog and course changes;
- Maintains student academic records in Banner and trains staff in the processing and maintaining of student records in compliance with Federal policies and procedures; generates various reports as needed;
- Reviews, clarifies, and explains academic information directly related to student records and the computerized student information system to students, faculty, and staff;
- Prepares degree audit of courses and GPA requirements for graduation review and a variety of academic reports for use by administrators and other agencies and assists with grade processing and Commencement;
- Maintains thorough knowledge of academic policies and procedures including admissions standards and requirements, financial aid eligibility, and Federal academic record regulations;
- Maintains student academic records and transcripts as prescribed by standard academic policy, procedures, and the computerized student information system (Banner);
- Ensures that the high-level of confidentiality and security of all information related directly and indirectly to student and records is maintained by the department;
- Works with the Registrar, academic department chairs, and students to manage the academic standards process, including notifications of academic honors, academic warnings, program/college suspensions, dismissals, and student appeals.
- Maintains knowledge of military education program benefits, and maintain knowledge about current VA processes;
- Verifies and certifies student enrollment for various agencies;
- Works with the Registrar to ensure continuity of the Registrar’s Office operations in the absence of the Registrar;
- Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations;
- Other duties as assigned.
Education: Associates’ degree from a recognized college or university.
Experience: Four years’ experience in administrative support and/or office management with responsibility for performing administrative support functions, maintaining customer/client records, overseeing office operations, and providing customer service.
Desired Qualifications: Experience with course registration and maintaining academic records within higher education.
License/Certification: Eligibility for New Hampshire driver's license.

Ability to work with diverse populations and to address the needs of the academic and student community with professionalism, diplomacy, and sensitivity. Demonstrates a positive, responsible, and cooperative customer service approach. Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment, and handle confidential matters appropriately. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to communicate successfully in both oral and written form, and to speak before public groups. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college.
