The Unit Nurse Manager will be responsible will organize, direct, and supervisor the daily functioning of the residents care unit in accordance with the current Federal, State, and Local standards and regulations that govern the Facility ; as directed by the Administrator and the Director of Nursing to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained.
- Organized, direct and supervise the function of all staff on the nursing unit.
Monitor nursing staff to ensure that each staff is performing his/her job duties.
Review all medical forms, reports, charting and evaluation to ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
Communicate and/or coordinate with other department to ensure that the residents are receiving continuity in the total regime of care.
Assist in the discharge planning.
Admits, transfers, and discharge residents as needed.
Participate in survey inspections.
Coordinate and participate in the development of a comprehensive resident assessment on admission.
Coordinate the completion of the MDS within required day days of admission.
Coordinate and monitor the completion of reassessment; ensure that the MDS and care plan are reflective of a complete and accurate resident assessment.
Monitor the continuity of implementation of the residents care on a twenty-four (24) hour basis.
Coordinate and participate in the ongoing revision of the residents care plan with the active participation of the resident/family.
Organize and participate in the review of physician orders and MARs/TAR on a monthly basis to ensure accurate continuation of orders.
Document integrated progress notes; any new evaluation or change in the residents condition and coordinate and participate in MDS evaluation required by significant change in condition.
Review documentation for accuracy and/or completeness
Review lab work and report any abnormal finding to the physician immediately; recommends to the physician individual resident needs for additional evaluation and follow-up as indicated by the residents condition or treatment.
Document residents weight; collaborate with the physician and dietician in maintaining adequate nutritional intake.
Make regular rounds with physician and of the nursing unit; monitor and direct the provision of daily care.
Assist the D.O.N. in ensuring adequate staffing is maintained; redirect/redistributes staff as required by changing of residents census and needs.
Monitor and direct the distribution/organization of tasks amongst the staff of all shifts.
Perform professional services and or treatment (i.e. catherterization, suction, dressing changes, etc.) as directed by the interdisciplinary plan of care.
Notify physician and residents family of any condition change or need for change in the plan of care.
Monitor to ensure all appointment and transportation for residents requiring service outside the facility are made and kept.
Ensure medication are prepared and administered according to physician orders utilizing proper techniques.
Order prescribed medications and supplies as needed in accordance with facility policy.
Other duties as required in support of the facility and/or department functions.

Required Experience:
Educational Requirements
- Bachelors degree (BSN or BS) from four year college, university, or an accredited school of nursing.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- Must possess a valid Registered Nurse License from either NJDHSS or New Jersey Board of Nursing.
Experiences Required
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience in a health care setting preferably Long Term Care; Geriatric experience preferred.
