The Registered Nurse position requires a diverse set of skills to provide high-quality patient care. Core skills such as catheterization, IV insertion, and patient assessment are essential for daily nursing tasks. Premium skills like critical care experience and cardiac catheterization demonstrate advanced expertise in specialized areas. Relevant skills such as health coaching and experience with children showcase a well-rounded approach to patient care.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be detail-oriented in medication administration, and hold an active RN license. This role involves developing care plans, coordinating discharge planning, and maintaining catheter care protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles
- Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or authorized medical personnel
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care
- Educate patients and their families on proper healthcare procedures and self-care techniques
- Assist in the coordination of patient care, including discharge planning and referrals
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- Possess at least 6 months of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Demonstrated experience with PICC line, IV insertion, blood draws, administration of IV fluids & antibiotics, and management of NG/PEG tubes
- Proficient in various EMRs, such as SigmaCare, Epic, PointClickCare, Allscripts and WellSky
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure
- Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
Work Shift:
Day shift (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
Evening shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
