Responsibilities
Coordinate patient intake activities and resources.
+ Evaluate severity of illness for all elective, direct, and urgent admissions to determine appropriate level of patient care.
+ Review physician orders for clinical appropriateness/completeness and proper admission status.
+ Coordinate education and development of internal staff and external departments to ensure understanding of intake review and approval process.
+ Conduct complex clinical review for inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services requests for medical necessity.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
+ BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
+ Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
+ Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
Additional Preferences
+ Minimum of 1 year Previous Hospice Experience
+ BSN
