Job Details
Direct Patient Care:
- Triages patient concerns and performs clinical procedures such as injections, wound care, and administering breathing treatments.
- Responds to lifesaving situations following nursing standards and protocols.
Clinical Administration:
- Handles patient telephone inquiries and provider requests regarding medical concerns.
- Documents patient encounters and care plans in the electronic health records system.
- Provides clinical coaching to medical assistants and completes ongoing training.
- Immunization Program Support:
- Reviews and compares records for the California Immunization Registry.
- Administers vaccines, verifies orders, and manages vaccine inventory.
- Submits required reports and conducts proper handling and storage of vaccines.
Patient Education:
- Develops and provides patient education plans tailored to individual needs.
- Educates patients regarding lab tests, medication functions, and care expectations.
Requirements:
Skills:
- Strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and efficient nursing assessment techniques.
- Flexibility with changing priorities and multiple deadlines.
- Emotional and cultural intelligence for effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Proficiency in electronic health records systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Education/Licenses:
- HS Diploma/GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Valid CA Registered Nurse License and current CPR/BLS certification required.
- Valid CA driver’s license required.
Experience:
- Ideally two years of clinical, outpatient, or general medicine experience preferred.
