Registered Nurse or LVN Day Shift 6AM-6PM - Cascades at Port Arthur

Hello, Cascades at Port Arthur in Port Arthur, TX is a beautiful nursing home located at 6600 9th Avenue. We are actively looking to hire a full-time Registered Nurse or LVN for our Day Shift (6AM-6PM).

A few details about your day-to-day:

• Ordering medications, equipment and supplies as prescribed.
• Preparing and administering treatments/medications as ordered by the physician
• Notify the resident's physician and/or family members when there is a change in resident's condition
• Administering professional nursing practice services such as: tube feedings, suction, catheterization, changing of dressings, packs, and irrigations as necessary
• Continuous observation and monitoring of seriously ill residents
• Being the patient advocate and ensuring that other health care team members are providing care according to the resident's care plan and personal wishes
• Accurately completing necessary charting as required and in a timely manner

What we need from you:

• Possess a current Texas RN or LVN license in good standing
• Effectively communicate on a personal level with residents, family members, personnel, visitors, etc.
• Able to make decisions independently when warranted
• Knowledge of medical and nursing practices and procedures
• Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to long term care
