MUST:
2+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse - Geriatrics/Nurse Navigator/Long-term Care
MD Registered Nurse License
2 years experience in geriatric nursing
Participation in professional organizations, dealing primarily in geriatrics preferred.
Minimum of two years in a long-term care setting
DUTIES:
Ensures that all applicable Federal, State and local standards are adhered to.
Assist physicians in planning for the individual residents nursing care.
Administers medications.
Administers treatments, including, but not limited to: dressings, catherization, suctioning, oxygen, etc.
Assists in direct resident care as necessary.
Maintains accurate documentation of medication administered and care rendered.
Meets with prospective and current residents and their families.
Assures appropriateness of resident admission to the facility and assist the Unit Nurse with the admission, as needed.
Identifies and promotes correction of problems in service provision or poor quality of resident care.
Maintains positive working relationships between nursing staff and other departments
Interacts with residents, families, and visitors to solve problems, maintain goodwill and promote positive customer relations.
Assist the Director of Health and Wellness with scheduling, assignments, and insuring adequate staffing levels of the nursing department that promote high quality nursing services and meet resident care demands.
Supervises nursing personnel and Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff.
Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
Familiarity with emergency procedures and may be required to assist with evacuations.
