Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care of the patients in the Infusion Services Department. The RN is responsible for demonstrating proficient nursing skills, exhibiting professionalism, and providing outstanding customer service to patients and their visitors at Conway Medical Center.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate degree (ASN) in Nursing required.
- Bachelor’s degree (BSN) in Nursing preferred.
Experience
- Knowledge of nursing theory and practice required.
- Minimum of one (1) year infusion related practice experience preferred.
- Prior experience on the Cerner EMR platform preferred.
- Previous experience in an ambulatory infusion center preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- South Carolina (or compact state) licensure as RN (SCLLR) in good standing required.
- Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required (may be obtained after hire).
- Valid US Driver’s License required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service.
- Provide the day-to-day patient care services of the Conway Medical Center (CMC) and Infusion services at assigned location(s).
- Perform duties such as, but not limited to, administering medication therapies such as intravenous antibiotics, subcutaneous injections, immunotherapy, and other infusion related products.
- Must also be able to place, access, care for, and maintain IV access devices to prevent and manage IV-related complications.
- The RN may occasionally be required to float between various infusion center locations to meet staffing needs.
- Must review all treatment plans with the director of infusion services, medical director, or affiliated nurse practitioner and be aware of all possible outcomes and complications of the respective treatment plans.
- Ensure that the patient, as well as the patient’s family are fully educated and aware of the respective treatment process, recovery process, and all other vital information pertaining to the nursing care plan.
- Work effectively and collaboratively with co-workers, nursing colleagues, physicians, and department heads.
- Effectively utilize strong organizational/time management skills.
- Consistently display effective verbal communication skills.
- Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
- Exercise independent judgment in emergency situations.
