- The Occupational Health Nurse will assist in coordinating a cross functional health and wellness team for the Tampa campus employees. Working alongside the Site Lead, Senior Coordinator, EAP and Wellness staff, the team will be responsible for the provision of Employee Health & Well-Being services including Occupational Medicine, and Wellness & Health Promotion programs. Services are provided under the mentorship or supervision of the Site Lead.
- Provides clinical healthcare services including: Nursing care for Injuries & illnesses which includes responding to onsite medical emergencies, Case Management of Occupational Injuries and Illness, Medical Surveillance examination and general health education and coaching
- Responsible for compliance associated with occupational health at the locations they support including, compliance with applicable OSHA regulations and recordkeeping and client Global Health standards.
- Drives increased health outcomes including reducing population health risks, managing and eliminating workplace health risks and supporting improved business outcomes through advancing employee health and wellbeing.
- Provides various preventive health evaluations and tests in accordance with Global Health policies and protocols.
- Maintains accurate clinical records, utilizing approved medical, nursing and statistical formats, including use of an Electronic Medical Record.
- Maintains and cultivates a safe working environment.
- Acquires knowledge of the occupational hazards and treatment for exposures for assigned locations.
- Partners with other members of the Employee Health & Well-Being team as well as Human Resources, Safety and management partners to encourage an integrated team approach to solving problems.
- Participates in the development of Site Business plans supporting key Global Health initiatives
- Participates in the Employee Development Program process. Attends continuing education programs.
- On occasion, supports other sites in the Florida campus.
- Current Registered Nurse license for the state of Florida is required.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S) preferred.
- Three to five years experience in occupational health, emergency room or intensive care nursing preferred.
- Current CPR/AED certification is required.
- Experience with Electronic medical Records (EMR), Outlook, and Microsoft Excel is required.
- Phlebotomy skills required.
- Working knowledge of regulatory areas; i.e.; ADA, OSHA, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, STD/LTD is required.
- Case Management experience is preferred.
- Outstanding leadership skills required; ability to gain trust and influence at all levels; collaborative.
- Strong interpersonal and people skills including the ability to motivate, cooperate and work effectively with others, and build partnerships with various departments.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Up to 10% domestic travel may be required.
- Fully onsite as this is a nurse
- 9:00a - 3:00p Tues and Thursday; 8A to 12noon on Weds
Skills:
- Current Registered Nurse license for the state of Florida is required.
