Position Summary
Supervises, trains and oversees activities of of Workers' Compensation Claims Supervisor and Sr. Workers' Compensation Adjusters in assigned region. Identifies innovative solutions and develops processes toward continuous improvement.. Reviews and advises on litigated claims.
- Successful candidate will work from home and must live in ERIE's Footprint.
- This position serves as the Regional Manager for Northeast Region mainly Pennsylvania
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel. Prepares and conducts performance assessments, coordinates discipline and oversees Employee development as required.
When appropriate, sets up files of adjusters, checking for coverage, adequate reserves and acts as a resource for answering claims questions. Provides additional services as required.
Reviews claim correspondence and provides counsel on further action.
Maintains and applies a working knowledge of adjuster's files.
Resolves coverage or unusual questions within designated authority. Conducts related research as necessary.
Reviews claims in process on a regular basis according to diary system and at other appropriate times. Takes action as necessary.
Makes recommendations and participates in developing and evaluating claims procedures.
Receives and directs processing of legal papers served upon Policyholders involving claims action. Also directs activities of outside legal counsel as required.
Participates in claim file conferencing of complex or unusual workers' compensation claims.
Participates in claim file conferencing and agent claims reviews of complex or unusual workers' compensation claims.
Responds to claim complaints and inquiries from Policyholders and claimants.
Responsible for oversight and collaboration with underwriting and sales in meeting the demands of servicing Middle Market accounts in region.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Eight years of previous workers' compensation claims adjusting experience required. Successful completion of Associate in Claims (AIC) designation preferred. In-depth knowledge of multi-jurisdiction workers' compensation laws preferred. Appropriate license as required by state. Valid driver's license required.
