About the Job
The Technical Manager is responsible to ensure that vessels are maintained to a high standard, meeting all technical and statutory requirements and being legislatively compliant. Technical Manager will lead technical team and the onboard engineering team and ensure that high standards of safety and environmental awareness onboard.
General:
Abides by company by-laws including policies and procedures.
Ensure Vessels are maintained in compliance with statutory, classand charter partyrequirements.
Operational:
Prepares a plan for the maintenance and upgrade and tools and trucks
Monitors the technical and maintenance of vessels in accordance to utilization and lifecycles and schedules thereof and in close corporation and under supervision of HQ Technical department
Preparation of the new builds technical specifications and monitor the implementation of the plan
Projects’ budgeting and monitoring the cost
Monitor dry dock planning in all divisions within the group
Monitor dry dock costs against the budget
Analyze dry dock yards ’tenders
Oversee the fleet technical performance and compliance with statutory requirements
Manage superintendent and engineer team to guarantee operations are effectively carriedthrough
Oversee the vessel performance including the approving of any major vessel repairs
Maintain and open and effective line of communication between ship and shore teams
Actively manage all aspects of the vessel and team to ensure client satisfaction
Ensure the safety, environmental and operational performance of all assigned vessels
Lead, Supervise, Appraise, and Support Technical Staff and Onboard Vessel Engineering Staff
Ensure effective implementation and management of Company's Corporate Maintenance Strategy and Preventive Maintenance Program
Evaluate critical spare inventory and distribution to ensure maximum vessel service reliability
Monitor vessel condition through daily review of vessel technical reports and regular on board inspections
Monitor and maintain vessel equipment and operating performance in synchronization with Company's vessel specifications

Authority:
Supervisory responsibilities include the management and directing of the technical staff and onboard engineering staff.
Experience
First class Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency
OR
Minimum 3 years of sea experience as chief engineer of offshore support vessels.
OR
Minimum 5 years of shore experience working as a technical superintendent or similar position
Others:
Strong knowledge base and technical skills in offshore support vessels
Proficient in Microsoft office, Microsoft project and AutoCAD
Strong communicational skills and ability to work in teams
Able to work under pressure
Strong Leadership skills
Willing to travel extensively
Fluent level of English language
