About the Job
New Leaf Energy is an experienced clean energy developer that partners with landowners, policymakers, and other stakeholders to accelerate the transition to a world powered by renewable energy. We identify high-value sites, work with landowners and local communities to develop them, and partner with long-term asset owners to bring the most impactful clean energy projects to life.
- Close coordination with the Regional Project Development Manager to align as a team to work on the regional business, with a shared responsibility for developing a strategy that enables delivery of an accurate monthly forecast and executing on a plan that results in continually growing the region profitably.
- Act as a conduit between the regional team and development engineering leadership with a focus on forecasting, process development, practical problem solving, strategic planning, and continuous improvement.
- Liaise with engineering managers on prioritization of resources for design, permitting, and optimization across projects at all stages of development from prospecting through final plan sets.
- Bring a project management mentality to the team and develop a cadence of accountability with regards to the monthly execution of the sales plan.
- Establish key performance indicators and achieve goals for quality, schedule, and financial results of the regional business.
- Help identify and diligence emerging technologies to continuously improve our valuations.
- Identify optimization opportunities within the region from new policies and or incentive structures.
- General business leadership and support of the region's development activities.
Desired Qualifications

- 5+ years in engineering and technology fields;
- Experience managing technical solutions for complex solar and energy storage designs and grid interconnection;
- Understanding of regulatory statutes related to technical aspects of PV and energy storage design (e.g. local and national electric codes, permitting requirements, utility interconnection tariffs, etc.)
- Knowledgeable in closing projects with independent power producers;
- Demonstrated project management skills;
- Experience with financial and economic modeling and analysis;
- Ability and inclination to continually evaluate business needs and practice;
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate improvements across discipline areas using lean problem solving and standard work;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelor's of Science. Master's preferred.
Compensation
New Leaf Energy compensates all employees in three ways: market-competitive base salary, plus above-market variable compensation, plus an equity-like program such that all employees experience the benefits of ownership. We use a data-driven and transparent methodology to calibrate compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable, guided by the New Leaf Energy compensation manual, which is available to all employees.
Under our compensation framework, the likely base salary range for this position in the Oakland location is $134,980 - $155,540. Your actual salary may be above, in, or below this range, depending on your location and experience.
Compensation for this position includes an incentive plan, about which we can go into detail in the interview process.
