Regional Sales Manager General Position Summary:
This position is responsible for achieving the sales quota and accounts profitability goal which is discussed and agreed between the incumbent and management as well as traveling through assigned territory to call on existing and prospective customers to promote products and solicit orders. The role will report directly to the National Sales Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong relationship with customers, communication and analytical skills,ability to problem solve, identify opportunities, very detailed oriented and the ability to turn data into actions.
Regional Sales Manager Corporate Account Management:
Develops and implements strategies to maintain and expand sales within an assigned territory. Develop trusted relationship with key account purchasing team (seasonal and everyday including planners)including distributor sales team supporting retail purchasing team. Lead and develop collaborative working process with internal key stakeholders including: demand planning, purchasing, logistics, finance in support of the accounts in territory. Build internal consumption and internal revenue forecasts. Analyze sales data to identify strategies, sales opportunities, marketing efficiency (point of sale data from customer portals and IRI). Prepares a plan for each account to identify what and how short and long-term needs may be met. Forecasts the demand for product(s) within assigned territory. Interfaces with the customer to understand the customer's overall objectives and requirements. Contacts customers on a regular basis to maintain account relationship, advise of new product and service offerings, and obtain feedback on products. Shares details with customers on additional offerings to provide value added service. Serves as a point of escalation for issues or activities that the customer encounters related to product sales. Expedites the resolution of customer problems/complaints. Prepares and conducts product presentations and demonstrations. Participates in trade shows by representing the organization and sharing information on products. Provides feedback to marketing and product development teams for future product enhancements. Shares ideas and customer needs throughout all phases of product life cycle. Attends departmental sales meetings to discuss project status, prospective customers as well as sharing accounttrends and future client needs.
Regional Sales Manager Sales:
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, businessdirectories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources. Visits prospective customers to develop new business accounts to ensure continuous and increasing salesrevenue. Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of availability and delivery schedules. Provides prompt and excellent service for customers by placing emergency orders and delivering such orders. Displays, demonstrates and/or distributes samples, emphasizing salable features of the products at customers’sites. Provides assistance in stocking customers’ shelves, checking for spoilage and out-of-date products, and settingup POP or customer display. Receives and reviews returned, damaged and expired items and creates credit memos. Handles business inquiries by phone, facsimile and e-mail: investigates and resolves customer problems. Establishes professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel.
Regional Sales Manager Administrative Duties:
Assists setting up trade show booth and preparing shipment of equipment and materials. Timely prepares and submits reports, including weekly activity reports, tradeshow reports, business trip reports,expense reports, meeting reports, etc. Provides assistance with administrative duties in the office, as necessary. Logs notes of all activities, and update customer profile / customer marketing program details / deals / terms etcon Salesforce. Maintain account detail pages up to date with correct information. Review customer deductions and confirm we are getting claims on right causes. Place disputes on deductions,assist accounting team with payment collection as needed.
Regional Sales Manager Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Provides day-to-day guidance and instructions to broker team members. Acts as a liaison between team members and management, by gathering information for performance reviews,and other human resources related issues. Monitors the broker team’s performance to ensure that the team stays on schedule and meets their performanceexpectations: provides feedback to staff. Identifies and addresses the team’s weaknesses; schedules and provides on-the-job or other training asnecessary. Works closely with team members to resolve operational and processing problems and reports as required onperformance, issues and resolutions. Identify sales training opportunities with broker partners and customers; create and execute ROI-based actionplans for assigned territory.
Regional Sales Manager Other & Miscellaneous
Seeks continuous improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes. Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by senior management. Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace. Reports all irregular issues and problems to management for solution. Maintains good communication with other managers, staff & outside contacts. Complies with all company policies and procedures. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.
