Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and driven individual to join our team as a Sales Representative specializing in the supply of process equipment for the chemical industrial market including Evaporators, Crystallizers, and related equipment. This role is pivotal in generating new business and developing relationships within the chemical industry through a consultative sales approach. The position involves identifying and pursuing leads, gathering market intelligence, and coordinating with various functions within the company to ensure customer requirements are met. This position is available as a local and/or remote work opportunity.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Achieve capital equipment sales targets as set by the Director for the designated territory and technology
- Develop and maintain relationships with key buyers to identify opportunities.
- Proactively penetrate markets to generate new business.
- Communicate customer requirements clearly within the company and coordinate sales efforts with other departments.
- Identify, qualify, pursue, and capture sales leads.
- Build trusting relationships based on expertise, integrity, and friendliness.
- Gather and report market intelligence concerning competition, pricing, and project status.
- Respond to telephone and written inquiries promptly and follow up aggressively throughout the sales process.
- Collaborate with GEA process or mechanical engineers for technical guidance when necessary.
- Deliver persuasive formal proposal presentations.
- Participate in trade shows as assigned.
- Negotiate secrecy agreements and terms & conditions of sales in collaboration with management.
- Issue order confirmations and participate in turnover meetings with project management, product managers, process engineers, purchasing, and administrative staff.
- Report on sales activities, proposal status, and forecasts.
- Manage expense accounts for travel and entertainment efficiently.
- Contribute to team efforts by completing tasks assigned by the supervisor.
- Coordinate customer visits, technical solutions, and pricing with the Service organization to ensure a unified customer approach.
- Build and maintain relationships with GEA customers and promote GEA within your network.
- Coordinate with European Centers of Competence within GEA when needed.
- Recommend and support laboratory and/or pilot tests.
Your Profile / Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of chemistry and chemical processes.
- Cooperate in the development of process flow diagrams, heat and mass balances, and P&IDs.
- Knowledge of chemical process equipment, including sizing and materials of construction.
- Ability to support proposal development, occasionally authoring proposals.
- Experience participating in plant audits to support new opportunities.
- Hands-on experience and troubleshooting skills are essential in this role
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical data and complex engineering systems effectively.

- Outgoing personality with a drive to win orders and close deals.
- Understanding of legal documents such as secrecy agreements and terms & conditions for sales of process equipment.
- Proficiency in MS Office products and general computer skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working well in a team setting and independently.
- Willingness to travel as required for sales assignments and industry functions.
- Preferably located near a major airport within a specific territory.
- Four-year college degree in chemical or mechanical engineering (with strong chemical background), preferably with additional commercial education. In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in a similar role with similar technology is acceptable.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
Incentive Bonus: Competitive incentive bonus plan based on individual and company performance.
