Our client, a lumber manufacturing company that is the global leader in its specialized field is looking for a Regional Sales Manager.
Position Overview:
The Regional Sales Manager, plays a crucial role in driving sales and expanding the customer base in Texas. The primary responsibilities include presenting and promoting products to new and existing clients, identifying new customers and conducting product knowledge sessions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in outside sales, particularly within the lumber and building materials industry.
This position will focus exclusively on the Texas area sales and will require 20-50% travel within the state. The remainder of the time will be spent working from home.
The candidates need to be based in Dallas.
Responsibilities:
- Present, promote, and sell the company’s products and services to new and existing customers in Texas.
- Identify and engage potential customers through proactive outreach and prospecting.
- Achieve agreed-upon sales targets within specified deadlines.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly and effectively.
- Schedule follow-up appointments to keep customers informed about the latest developments.
- Conduct product knowledge sessions in the field.
- Participate in trade shows and industry events.
- Survey distributors, wholesalers, retailers, drywall supply houses, and occasionally job sites.
- Measure and report on the volume and market share of the products.
- Provide technical information and common usage insights.
- Advocate for the stocking distributors to retailers across all markets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, with at least 5 years of successful outside sales experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with commodity lumber and plywood markets is a plus.
- Previous experience in building product channel sales and lumber or plywood sales is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
- Technical acumen to effectively communicate the diverse benefits of treated wood products.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and driven to achieve success
Benefits
Compensation: $110,000-$130,000 + up to 15% annual bonus
