Ashland has an exciting opportunity as Regional Sales Manager of our Biofunctionals Business Line within Ashland’s Personal Care business in North America. This is a high visibility, significant role within Ashland and the personal care business. This position will report to the General Manager for Biofunctionals.
**This role is a remote position to someone living in US**
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Generating sustainable and profitable growth for the Biofunctionals Business unit by preserving base business and developing new opportunities
- Presenting, promoting, introducing, and selling biological actives to existing and new customers within a defined territory
- Leading North America Biofunctionals sales team, and reporting to the General Manager for Biofunctionals.
- Providing leadership, guidance, coaching, skill development, and commercial targets, necessary for building a team of competent, successful sales professionals
- Executing business strategy at the customer level by identifying and developing opportunities for Biofunctionals in personal care application
- Understanding the value proposition for Ashland Biofunctionals in the North America personal care market
- Developing strong partnerships with prospective customers, existing clients, market influencers, and other relevant partners to generate new leads and brand recognition
- Networking and participating in industry events to maintain knowledge base of market trends, supply challenges, regulatory changes and other factors impacting business
- Supplying field intelligence on market growth areas, trends, customers, and competitors.
- Collaborating with applicable Ashland departments to ensure transparency and alignment
- Strategic support and guidance of distribution partners e.g., technical support, pricing, joint customer visits, trainings and workshops
- Monitoring and reporting on progress of commercial projects in a timely manner
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree preferred in biological or chemical science or equivalent
- At least 5 years of proven working experience as a sales manager
- Experience managing a successful sales team is also required
- Sales experience in personal care ingredients including biological active.
- Willingness to travel (approx. 50%)
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
- Good knowledge of the personal care market and customers in North America
- Strong presentation and communication skills
