Reports to: Director of Sales
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Regional Sales Manager to lead and manage our distribution network within a designated geographic region. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for establishing and nurturing relationships with distributors, driving sales growth, and ensuring the successful delivery of our products to end customers. This position requires an individual with strong sales acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to strategize and execute sales plans that align with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies to achieve revenue growth targets and increase market share within the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with distributors to understand their needs, goals, and challenges, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Drive the execution of sales plans, promotional activities, and new product launches in partnership with distributors.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify opportunities for sales growth and market positioning.
Distributor Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with distributors to foster loyalty, trust, and collaboration.
- Provide regular training and support to distributors to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and overall performance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for distributors, addressing inquiries, concerns, and ensuring the timely resolution of any issues.
Sales Performance and Reporting:
- Track and report on distributor sales performance, ensuring KPIs and sales targets are met.
- Provide regular updates and reports on market conditions, sales forecasts, and distributor performance to senior management.
- Utilize CRM tools and sales analytics to manage territory performance and sales pipeline effectively.
Market Development:
- Identify new business opportunities and potential distributors within the region to expand the distribution network.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor activities, and industry trends, providing insights to guide sales strategies.
- Ensure optimal distribution coverage to maximize market penetration.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Work closely with marketing, product management, and supply chain teams to align sales efforts with promotional initiatives, product availability, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with customer service and operations teams to ensure timely product delivery and resolve any logistics or operational issues.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, preferred 2 years in a distributor-focused role in a similar industry (e.g., consumer goods, industrial products, pharmaceuticals, etc.).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with distributors and internal teams.
- Ability to analyze market data, track sales performance, and create actionable insights.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Travel: Ability to travel frequently within the assigned region (up to 50% of the time).
