Position Summary
Reporting into the Senior Director of Sales for Northeastern North America, responsible for managing and directing all sales activities to increase sales and implement strategic corporate directives within the specified geographical region
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop strategies and direct sales activities towards selected target accounts.
· Recruit, train and manage regional independent sales representatives and Hirose direct sales personnel as assigned within a specific territory; (MA, CT, RI, NH, VT, NY, NJ, PA, WV, VA, DE, MD, ON, QC, NL, PE, NB, NS)
· Cultivate OEM accounts for consideration of transferring the sales responsibilities to a designated Hirose segment;
· Supervise or Prepare and submit sales activity reports on a timely basis including but not limited to rolling 12-month sales forecast for domestic and international business, Manager's report, Distributor Quarterly Planning Sessions, CRM project updates and customer visit reports.
· Build close relationships with Hirose Japan personnel;
· Manage Distribution sales activities at the branch locations within assigned territory;
· Manage direct Account Managers within specified territory or territories.
· Direct selling strategy on key opportunities, including pricing, service, investment, risk, scheduling and technical promotion issues to achieve successful design wins;
· Help coordinate travel arrangements and customer sales calls for Hirose Japan representatives as needed
· Provide communication support to Reps and remove internal obstacles to sales success by communication and follow up with HRUS and Hirose Japan, enlisting internal support as needed.
· Assist the High Speed, Industrial, and Consumer Electronics Segments with sales and marketing activities as requested
· Implement actions to increase effectiveness of individual Reps to achieve design wins;
· Conduct product exhibitions (technical shows) at OEM, CM and Distributor branch locations;
· Attend quarterly sales meetings and present territory updates
· Manage and direct sales activities with the Hirose appointed cable assembly Value Added Reseller's (VAR's) within the territory
· Create and provide a team building atmosphere for direct reports or subordinates
· Mentor and provide educational development for subordinates
SUPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Implement New Product Introduction (NPI's) plans agreed to with Product Marketing and the Director of Sales to include target account identification, promotion schedule, samples and pricing while providing direct feedback to Hirose.
· Provide field input to the Director of Sales and Product Marketing group on industry and product trends for reporting to Hirose Japan on new product development and R&D strategies.
COMMUNICATION AND INTERFACE
· Excellent written and oral communication to interface with Hirose Japan, Director of Sales, Director of Sales Distribution Channel, Regional Distribution Managers, Inside Sales Manager and Segment Leaders,
o Reps, customers, engineers and office assistant
· Excellent presentation skills for customer and company meetings
SUPERVISION
Manage the Business Development Managers and Focus Account Managers for the specific regions assigned, while providing guidance to coordinate the efforts of Reps, and other Hirose sales personnel as needed.
PROBLEM SOLVING AND JUDGEMENT
· Respond to customer inquiries and resolve customer complaints regarding pricing, delivery and quality issues;
· Reconcile Hirose Japan and HRUS policies with customer expectations
· Remedying under-achieving Reps
Requirements:SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

· BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university.
· Minimum eight years sales experience.
· Minimum five years electronics industry experience.
· Minimum three years management experience preferred
· Strong organizational skills.
· Passport in good standing
