Job Summary
Executes the Retail Banking strategy in respective market to deliver products and services to consumer and business customers. Manages the activities of multiple branches in designated market to drive the overall sales efforts to grow consumer and business customers and achieve profitable results. Coordinates with designated leaders in Community, Wholesale and FMS banking groups to create a culture of collaboration and cross-sell expectations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Directs and administers the activities of a group of branches to achieve profit, growth and customer service objectives by driving activities and behaviors through consistent and persistent sales and sales management methodologies. Participates in establishing sales goals and objectives for the group, and continuously assesses performance against set goals. Ensures the day-to-day activities and initiatives of the local branches align with and support the strategy to achieve the business and financial plans for retail banking.
* Evaluates individual branch effectiveness by directing reviews of branch activity, including staffing, loans, deposits, overdrafts, charge-offs and audits. Collects, analyzes and monitors activity reports to plot trends, monitor efficiency, and track progress against profit and performance objectives. Proactively takes proper corrective action when necessary.
* Coordinates with other market leaders to create a culture of collaboration and cross-sell expectations with the market, regional and FMS leaders. Promotes a sales culture and ensures that team members receive proper training to understand and sell or cross-sell all bank products to reach individual and team sales goals. Provides or recommends training for branch team members on all bank products.
* Coordinates with market leadership to identify and grow talent in each market. Oversees and is responsible for talent management and succession planning to ensure adequate bench strength. Develops team members to their fullest potential and provides challenging opportunities to enhance career growth and promote diversity.
* Administers and directs the development and implementation of a successful, aggressive calling program that targets existing and prospective customers for all bank products. Participates in joint customer, prospect, and COI calls, and provides coaching for top line performance. Ensures that branches have the tools and team member resources to meet goals.
* Conducts Retail sales meetings and maintains a high level of communication within the branch network. Primary activities include coaching managers in various aspects of sales and service performance planning. Ensures that branch managers and other branch leaders demonstrate and role model individual success by contributing individual production to help achieve overall branch goals. Promotes the delivery of industry-leading service levels by branch team members.
* Provides leadership and guidance to branch managers and other supporting teams to properly execute banking policies at all branches. Ensures compliance with internal controls, operational procedures and risk management policies. Ensures that transactions and practices of direct reports and all team members within span of control comply with all regulations.
* Works with the Retail Market Managers to implement a successful market plan utilizing market analysis. Identifies product viability and workable strategies to predict success. Coordinates with branch personnel to ensure proper support is in place during sales campaigns, and identifies and implements effective customer service enhancements.
* Promotes reputation and social responsibility. Seeks and maintains external relationships and alliances, strengthening the company's impact on and reputation in the communities served.
* Provides credit proficiency and offers guidance, direction, and recommendations to retail team members on small business and consumer credit issues. Develops and is responsible for branch team members to emanate a level of credit competence that allows them to question clients' needs proficiently and present appropriate credit solutions that provide value contribution.
* Manages the annual performance management and merit processes for direct and indirect reports. Coaches and develops team members and builds a work environment where team members are engaged and feel a positive sense of achievement about their role in the company. Works closely with Human Resources regarding employee relations, compensation, training, posting and filling vacant positions and other Human Resources related matters.
* Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
* Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline or an equivalent combination education and experience.
Minimum Experience:
Five years of experience managing a retail branch, including sales management and consumer and small business lending experience and management of critical customer relationships, difficult credit situations, diverse work teams.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
* Demonstrated sales leadership skills with ability to motivate multiple direct reports
* Proficient in consumer and small business lending
* Ability to work comfortably and effectively with senior management
* Ability to develop advanced approaches to resolve critical technical or business problems
* Demonstrated credit skills
* Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products
