The Regional Patient Access Operations Manager oversees and ensures the smooth functioning of patient access services across multiple healthcare facilities. This role is responsible for managing key functions like registration, insurance verification, patient liability collections, and customer service. The manager collaborates with department leaders, staff, and stakeholders to maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and patient satisfaction while driving performance improvements based on key metrics.

This role is responsible for managing key functions like registration, insurance verification, patient liability collections, and customer service. The manager collaborates with department leaders, staff, and stakeholders to maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and patient satisfaction while driving performance improvements based on key metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with co-workers, visitors, and staff in alignment with core values.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to patient access teams within the assigned region.
- Recruit, train, and mentor department leadership, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and collaboration.
- Oversee patient access services, ensuring efficiency in registration, insurance verification, liability collection, and customer service functions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for operational improvement and collaborate with IT to leverage technology for process enhancements.
- Promote a patient-centered care approach, ensuring respectful, empathetic, and responsive interactions at all touchpoints.
- Evaluate staff performance, address concerns, and resolve operational issues to improve team effectiveness.
- Implement initiatives to enhance patient access, reduce wait times, and streamline registration processes for an improved patient experience.
- Act as a liaison between patient access teams and other departments, ensuring clear communication and collaboration to meet organizational goals.
- Conduct regular audits to assess accuracy in patient registration and financial data, implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to optimize operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of healthcare regulations, billing processes, and insurance protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, healthcare EHR systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner), and data analysis.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on inspiring, motivating, and managing a diverse team.
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills in complex, dynamic environments.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in patient access, physician practice management, revenue cycle management, or healthcare administration.
