The Role
The Regional Outreach Manager will be instrumental towards executing Suffolk Construction's efforts to enhance trade partner diversity and external affairs in Boston. This position will focus on meeting the current market demands for diverse trade partner and community engagement, as required in client RFPs. The person will work closely with business development, field operations, marketing, and critical external partners to support our enterprise needs. This role will assist Suffolk in delivering a higher level of service in markets with a strong focus on institutional and public work.
Responsibilities:
- As directed, implements regional approaches to engage diverse trade partners and communities, ensuring alignment with client requirements and RFPs.Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between regional leadership and external organizations.
- Build and maintain relationships with civic organizations, State Diversity Offices, key regional and community organizations, and other entities for resources, support, and sponsorship.
- Identify and engage with organizations within regional markets that align with the mission of Trade Partner Diversity.
- Establish and monitor goals for Suffolk projects aimed at enhancing Trade Partner Diversity.
- Support the Pursuits Marketing team and participate in proposal interviews.
- Ensure compliance during project phases, partnering with external compliance managers and local consultants to address needs and drive diversity goals.
- Promote and foster relationships for Suffolk’s "Build with Us" program, engaging diverse trade partners and community organizations.
- Represent Suffolk at supplier diversity events, conferences, industry gatherings, and professional associations.
- Lead community efforts to increase opportunities for local residents in the construction trades.
- Collaborate with business development, construction operations, and marketing teams to meet enterprise needs and deliver exceptional service in target markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in community engagement, supplier diversity, or related roles within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of institutional and public work markets.
- Proven ability to develop and implement diversity and inclusion strategies.
- Excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel within the California region for events and meetings.
