Regional Operations & Supply Chain Director
Position Type: Full-time, permanent placement; 100% onsite, travel required
Our team at The Recruiting Prosis conducting a high-priority search for a Regional Operations & Supply Chain Director for North America on behalf of a leading international manufacturer and distributor of high-quality industrial hardware and components. In this role you will work closely with executive management, global operations, and site managers to incorporate systems and technology to optimize and deploy best practices across all regional locations. You will be responsible for defining, implementing and maintaining procedures and programs that drive efficiencies through an end-to-end supply chain including international and domestic supplier management, freight movement, distribution, logistics and direct interface with customers, factories, production and warehousing operations. This role requires strong experience in Microsoft D365, data analytics, customer engagement, team leadership, warehouse operations, supply chain logistics, commercial negotiations, and a proven track record of successful project management. You will lead the quality, warehousing and purchasing departments with 4 direct reports. This is an immediate, full-time, permanent position and will require you to work onsite with occasional travel.
Routine responsibilities will require you to:
- Develop strong relationships with customers to understand logistical needs and pain points, ensure solutions are aligned with requirements by gathering feedback and thorough research
- Collaborate with colleagues in customer, supplier and company site visits by setting clear goals and expectations, conducting performance evaluations, and developing continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive efficiencies through data interrogation and supplier scorecards and scoping, to optimize freight routes, packaging, consignment stock, Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) / Economical Reorder Quantities (EOQ), lead time alignment, etc. and the operational environment to reduce waste, manage inventory and improve speed to market
- Establish, manage, and develop appropriate operational KPI’s includinggross profit margin, cost of goods, quality of supplied products, equipment efficiency, and other relevant metrics used to define efficiency of supply chain operations
- Ensure the performance and accountability for delivery of objectives is managed and met
- Manage the local supply chain and pricing in line with process and global guidance
- Utilize customer forecasts, MOQ (EOQ) and root cause analysis of obsolescence or service deficiencies to create a shared approach to establish acceptable stock turns, lead times and supplier MOQ based on historical data and other group information
- Manage alignment with the global leaders is critical to the delivery of group strategy, customer service, establishment and roll out of best practices within the warehouse and logistics environment, with ongoing promotion of internal performances via KPIs, Dashboards, and monthly reports.
- Interact with members of the global team to conduct quarterly business reviews, price increases, raising E&O claims, usage patterns
- Work closely with finance teams in order to provide and assess margin management tools, landed cost routines, and general efficiencies that support on time provision of appropriate information for budgeting and reforecasting purposes
- Other duties as required to support the delivery of the strategy, operational KPI’s and company objectives
Required education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; Project Management Qualified/Certified preferred
- 5+ years experience in a supply chain and/or sales/warehousing operations role using making data-driven decisions required
- Proven Microsoft D365 experience required
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills required
- Ability to travel15% required; occasional international travel may be required
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing, production, distribution warehousing and supply chain operations including related technology and automating workflows
- Highly analytical with the ability and confidence to make data driven decisions
- Strong customer and commercial supplier understanding
- Team player able to work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines, functions and time zones
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external audiences
- High attention to detail
