Role Overview
As our Regional Medicaid Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that our residents receive the care they need and deserve. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Medicaid Eligibility Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to navigate the complex Medicaid application process for our residents.
- Client Onboarding and Support: Guide residents and their families through the application process with empathy, expertise, and exceptional customer service.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with our team members, residents, and Medicaid agencies to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration throughout the application process.
- Research and Documentation: Stay informed about federal, state, and county eligibility guidelines for Medicaid long-term care benefits. Conduct research, gather required documentation, and ensure accurate and timely completion of all application paperwork.
- Process Improvement and Innovation: Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation to streamline the Medicaid application process and enhance the overall resident experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or similar field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare billing and collections, with a preference for experience in Long-Term Care.
- Business Office Director experience preferred.
- Elevated level of customer service experience and a passion for helping others.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities needed
- Ability to travel as needed for Medicaid applications (Colorado and Wyoming)
- Proficient with SNF/LTC payer eligibility guidelines and billing rules.
- Solid working knowledge of Medicaid eligibility guidelines for states supported.
- Comfortable and confident with Private collections.
- Intermediate level of MS Office applications – Word and Excel
- Must have strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communications.
- Must be a strong trainer and mentor.
- Must be able to troubleshoot issues, prioritize work to support multiple communities and communicate effectively with community and support staff.
