About the Job
We are looking for a Regional Head of Procurement - US to join our Procurement Team. The role will be based at our Orlando Hub in Florida, with hybrid working for those looking for more working flexibility.
Join our team to manage supplier contracts, achieve cost reductions, and support our business teams in delivering exceptional supplier services for high guest satisfaction. Your role will encompass implementing top procurement practices, understanding supply markets, and managing contracts effectively.
You'll streamline processes, resolve supplier issues, and advocate for environmental initiatives, all while leading and fostering a culture of excellence and efficiency. If you have strong leadership skills and a knack for strategic procurement management, this role is your opportunity to significantly contribute to our company's success.
Candidates must have procurement experience in categories such as Food & Beverage, Facilities Management, IT, Utilities, Marketing, and Professional Services. It is important to note that this role does not include any responsibilities related to Retail Buying or Merchandising
Responsibilities:
- Implement best practices to achieve cost, quality, and service excellence, collaborating with stakeholders to meet targets.
- Recommend innovative solutions to leverage Merlin’s scale and synergies, securing buy-in for key categories.
- Develop deep knowledge of supply markets for relevant categories and regions.
- Lead tendering, negotiation, and renewal of high-value supply contracts, optimizing opportunities.
- ⚖️ Partner with Legal & External legal counsel to manage contracts effectively.
- Identify and roll out process improvements to streamline operations and reduce inefficiencies.
- ️ Resolve supplier performance issues through robust service level agreements.
- Champion environmental initiatives, sustainability efforts, and ethical sourcing principles.
- Lead and inspire a small team of direct reports

Qualifications & Experience:Background and Qualifications:
- A degree in Business or related discipline is preferred.
- 5+ years of Procurement experience in categories such as Food & Beverage, Facilities Management, IT, Utilities, Marketing and Professional Services.
- A Professional Procurement qualification (e.g. certification) is preferred.
- Innovative thought and actions in relation to problem solving
- Excellent quantitative and data analysis skills
- Comfortable with ambiguity and managing potentially conflicting views
- Strong project management and process improvement skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including promoting benefits of teamwork
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to operate independently with limited business direction
- Ability to lead, develop, and inspire a team
