As more organizations and non-profits compete for fundraising dollars, it is critical for today’s non-profits to take the initiative to get out and talk face-to-face with the community that funds the services stations provide each and every day.
Essential Job Functions
- Expected to work M-F 9AM-5PM each workday unless canvassing or working from field office, as necessary.
- Ensure accountability and regular feedback.
- Ensure CRS policies and procedures, as well as all laws, are followed.
- Supervise and manage canvass directors and assistant canvass directors (often remotely) in their management of canvass staff in campaign offices nationwide.
- Regional Field Directors may at times need to manage canvass staff directly, including hiring, training, discipling, and terminating as necessary.
- Make employment decisions regarding canvass directors and canvassers as necessary, this includes final decisions to hire, discipline, and fire with assistance from Recruitment personnel and Human Resources.
- Implement and provide oversight for quality control and best practices for data collection, information gathering, etc.
- Develop and update a turf plan for field offices.
- Launch canvass programs performing Director duties as needed.
- Travel to and work from field offices, as necessary.
- Able to perform administrative duties as needed in central office when required.
- All other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Demonstrated management abilities that include the ability to positively motivate others, role model professional and courteous behavior, and discipline direct reports constructively.
- Prior canvassing, organizing, fundraising, or equivalent leadership experience required.
- Proficiency with software applications and cloud-based storage platforms necessary to running field operations.
- Must think critically, problem solve, and troubleshoot technical systems and new digital mediums.
- Public speaking, interpersonal communication, formal writing, and strong telephone skills are required.
- Demonstrative flexibility within a changing organizational landscape and collaborate with teams on new projects.
- Must be organized, efficient, exercise attention to detail, and able to multi-task; must be an excellent time manager and keep a tight schedule.
Environment & Physical Demands
- 80 % Office, 20 % Field - Flex as Needed
- Availability to work on Saturdays, Holidays, and other days as needed.
Canvassing Requirements & Bonus Pay:
- Regional Field Directors will be expected to canvass as many shifts as needed and directed. This includes advanced check-ins with directors and other staff.
- Bonus compensation for canvassing will be calculated per each campaign’s Compensation & Bonus Structure.
