About the Job
The Regional Engineer is typically charged with oversight of multiple properties within an assigned geographic region. He or she is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to aid property level Engineers in the field in maintaining all equipment systems and building components including but not limited to mechanical and electrical systems pumps HVACs refrigeration plumbing locks and other equipment/work normally maintained at each hotel. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities; for OEM associates overtime does apply and is calculated accordingly.
Responsibilities:QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate combination of education and experience to support on-the-job effectiveness.
- Minimum of 5 years’ previous senior-level maintenance engineering experience with multi-property responsibility.
- Previous managerial experience to include supervision of a large team.
- Hospitality background to include experience with major hospitality brands (Marriott Choice Hilton IHG etc).
- HVAC certification and/or other specialized certifications.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of hotel maintenance to include energy management plumbing carpentry electrical painting machine repair and boilers.
- Proficiency with computer software to include Microsoft Project Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Skill in handling the stresses of multiple concurrent and conflicting priorities and issues.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements including site safety.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of onsite workers and corporate senior management.
- Flexibility and mobility to maintain a schedule of frequent travel (approximately 75% field 25% office).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and direct the training activities of property level Maintenance Technicians to ensure duties are carried out completely effectively and efficiently.
- Educate and train property level Maintenance Technicians on current safety issues to ensure compliance with all federal state and local laws and safety regulations.
- Monitor each property’s execution and achievement of the hotel’s preventative maintenance program goals.
- Provide guidelines and assistance on reduction in energy usage through training and focus on best practice directives.
- Establish guidelines for the replenishment of engineering supplies; Implement procedures to secure inventory of assets such as tools basic supplies TVs and standard FF&E within each hotel.
- Promote and enforce administrative processes; Ensure all PM logs are kept current.
- Track life safety tests and ensure that proper documentation readily available.
- Provide operations teams with front-line support in emergency mechanical or natural disaster situations.
- Ensure that each hotel has a current and detailed emergency procedures manual.
- Assist the Corporate Director of Engineering in securing and reviewing competitive bids for capital projects through national and local preferred vendors.
- Ensure that up-to-date spreadsheets are kept by each assigned property listing on-site mechanical equipment with location origination date make model and known repairs.
- Ensure that assigned properties keep documentation of equipment and have building system warranties.
- Inform senior leadership of recommendations for asset preservation of major mechanical repair/replacement during budget process; Assist with 5-year Capital Expenditure plan.
- Provide input to GM on performance of engineering/maintenance staff during property visits.
- Actively participates in the on-boarding training and development of maintenance/engineering staff to ensure consistency continuous improvement and positive team morale.
- Support cross-hotel communication to synergize operations share best practices and leverage organizational resources.
- Performs other tasks and duties as necessary.
