Regional Culinary Specialist / Regional Executive Chef Specialist
The Regional Culinary Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the excellence of culinary operations at assigned communities. This position involves supporting daily operations by providing interim coverage for Executive Chefs, onboarding new Executive Chefs, participating in key events, and maintaining high service standards.
The Culinary Specialist serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in culinary operations and is responsible for fostering a positive culture within the culinary team. This role reports to the Regional Director of Culinary within the assigned region. The Regional Culinary Specialist is responsible for supporting community culinary operations, onboarding, recruiting, events, training, supporting new development/transitions, sales/marketing, projects, adhering to policy and procedures, budgets, and customer service support.
Travel Requirements: Up to 95%+ Travel Required. Travel to assigned Communities based on need and priority. Travel assignments may be for extended periods of time and may frequently change; flexibility and availability are required.
Salary range: $80k-85k
Responsibilities:
• Provide interim coverage as the acting Executive Chef where assigned.
• Support culinary events and assist in new development and transitions.
• Onboard new Executive Chefs and ensure smooth daily operations through training and guidance.
• Facilitate elevated onsite and virtual onboarding for Executive Chefs and assist with daily operational needs.
• Support the rollout of culinary training programs within the community and act as a trainer as needed.
• Lead recruiting efforts for all culinary positions in both back of house (BOH) and front of house (FOH) at
assigned community.
• Ensure an amazing candidate experience during interviews and support chef testing as needed.
• Act as a resource for the launch team and provide support for key events as requested.
• Serve as the SME for culinary community operations, focusing on food production, menu execution, and
service standards.
• Understand and articulate all community aspects of Executive Chef role and culinary operations maintaining
excellence in culinary culture within the community.
• Provide onsite operations support during post-openings and transitions to ensure successful integration of
new teams.
• Execute onsite events as assigned and collaborate with marketing teams to enhance culinary services.
• Contribute to various projects and committees as assigned to improve culinary operations.
Innovation & Policy Resource
• Provide feedback and inform teams during field testing and pilot programs for new initiatives and policies.
• Assist in budget-related tasks and provide information as assigned to support culinary operations.
• Respond to requests from Culinary Help Desk and provide assistance as assigned.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Associates Degree in Culinary Program or Hospitality Management or equivalent experience.
• Prefer 3+ year(s) multi-site experience in food service operations and hospitality
• Prefer 5+ year(s) experience leading and supervising teams
• Proven experience in culinary operations, particularly in management or leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of culinary practices, menu execution, and service standards.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to train and mentor team members while fostering a positive workplace culture.
• Familiarity with culinary software and ordering platforms preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check.
• May require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing,
and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the
spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
