The Regional Corporate Coding Manager (TPR) functions under the direction of the Director of Corporate Coding.
This role provides regional coding management oversight of coding operations for Tenet Physician Resources (TPR). This individual is responsible for managing all coding operations activities in collaboration with the Director of Coding. Manages daily unbilled activities with Tenet coders, GBC Coders, and vendor coders to ensure unbilled coding is within standard. Drives process improvement around denials and voids to ensure standard is met. Ensures alignment and partnership with facility leaders, providers and RCM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cultivates relationships and alignment with TPR VPs, BOMs, RCM Leaders, and physicians
- Daily unbilled coding update by 9am CST – including action plans
- Month unbilled coding update during last 5 working days at month end – including action plans
- Drive Denial and Voids improvements and action plans included in MOR
- Direct oversight and development of GBC profee coders
- Completes and sustains transition and ongoing success of vendor coding
- Monthly MOR reporting to include quality and productivity data with action plans
- Monthly EM distribution report by Market – collaborates with CE Leader for audit and improvement
Required:
- Associates Degree in Health Information Management or associated healthcare field of study.
- Minimum of four years of profee coding experience.
- One year of profee coding leadership experience.
- AAPC Coding Credential or like credential from AHIMA
- Thorough knowledge of profee coding principles associated with Official Coding Guidelines and regulatory requirements. Working knowledge of disease processes, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and knowledge of reimbursement structure.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with encoders and computerized abstracting systems.
- Coding proficiency demonstrated by successful completion of Tenet coding exercise.
- Organizational skills for initiation and maintenance of efficient workflow.
- Capacity to work independently.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or associated healthcare field of study.
- Five or more years of profee coding experience.
- Five or more years of directly leading large coding teams in a complex provider-based system.
Compensation
- Pay: $85,280-$121,639. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
- Position may be eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan bonus of 10%-25% depending on role level.
- Management level positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
