The Regional Vice President of Philanthropy is responsible for the overall fundraising performance of the Mountain Region and serves as the Chief Philanthropy Officer for the region's foundation. The position leads the development of a comprehensive region-wide fundraising plan that incorporates all foundations within the regions and plans for the region's future growth. He/she will have direct supervisory responsibilities, will mentor and guide staff leading Foundations within the Division and will have direct portfolio responsibility for principal donors. The position will report directly to the national EVP/Chief Philanthropy Officer with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Region President/CEO. He/she will serve as a member of the system philanthropy leadership team and will also serve on the region's executive leadership team. The position will partner closely with the national philanthropy team to implement best practices in fundraising and leverage centralized resources to reduce costs and increase overall productivity. He/she will work to instill a culture of philanthropy throughout the region and all of CommonSpirit Health. **Responsibilities** - Serve as the Chief Philanthropy Officer for the region's foundation(s). - Lead the development of a comprehensive region-wide fundraising plan which responds to the priorities of the system, the region and the local markets within the region in order to maximize fundraising performance. - Work closely with the national team to implement best-practice fundraising programs and centralize operational support services that leverage our size and scale while being responsive to local community input and participation. - Manage and supervise all region-wide Foundation leaders, working closely to build a team while ensuring each Foundation's individual success in conjunction with hospital leadership, foundation boards of directors, and engaged community leaders. - As needed, serve as the Chief Philanthropy Officer for any Foundation within the region when there is a vacancy or to ensure ongoing fundraising maintains momentum and continuity. - Serve as an engaged and respected member of the region's executive leadership team, instilling a culture of philanthropy among internal and external stakeholders. - Participate as an active member of the national Philanthropy Leadership Council, serving as the accountable partner for region-wide performance and representing the region to promote and integrate local input. - Ensure efficiencies and economies of scale within the region and across the entire organization. Leverage shared information, resources, staff, systems, and networks to increase productivity and improve fundraising. - Build a cohesive and diverse philanthropy team that is inclusive and supports each person's professional development. **Qualifications** Required Education and Experience - Education: Master's degree in business or related field is required or a combination of education and/or additional job-related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree. - Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of total experience in philanthropy and/or non-profit leaders. Minimum seven (7) years of total experience in a senior management role; experience in successfully dealing with major gift fundraising ; experience facilitating progressive organizational change within a growing organization. Required Licensure and Certifications - Certification as a Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training - Communicating for Impact - Knowledge of the concepts, tools, and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit, and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations. - Program Management - Knowledge of the policies and techniques to manage a set of related projects within a program; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control the set of projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve program objectives. - Budgeting - Knowledge of budget processes and ability to apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget. - External Resource Management - Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants, grantors, and suppliers). - Planning: Tactical, Strategic - Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years), and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan. - Organizational Savvy and Politics - Knowledge of organizational politics and political tactics; ability to effectively navigate formal and informal communication and decision-making channels.
