As a Refrigeration Technician I, you'll perform basic to mid-range diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repairs and replacements.

What is the work?
Troubleshooting / Maintenance / Repair & Replacement:
- Performs basic to mid-range diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Performs basic welding
- Performs basic repairs / replacements and preventative maintenance in assigned specific classification
- May work with others in an apprentice style environment
- Assists in basic repairs as needed
- Repairs / replaces / adjusts belts
- Repairs / replaces coolant hoses
- Performs oil and filter changes
- Repairs / replaces chute
- Diagnoses / repairs starting systems
- Troubleshoots / repairs basic electrical system
- Performs minor trailer and refrigeration repair
- Performs Associate Refrigeration Tech duties
What is your background?
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of trade school or
- 1+ years of mechanical experience
- Experience as a tractor mechanic
- A skilled level of welding (preferred)
Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Reefer Technician?
- Some knowledge of maintenance on trailers, including refrigeration units
- Familiarity with general preventative maintenance and safety procedures
- Computer skills
- Ability to read schematic diagrams
Can you...
- Work in a team environment
- Lift 100 lbs and carry a distance of 5 ft
- Work sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and in a prone position
- Work with hands over head
- Climb; work from a ladder
- Begin actively pursuing the required certification for next Technician level
- Obtain a CDL within 6 months of job start
- Meet H-E-B driving qualifications
- Obtain the minimum expected tool set
